Stirling DK's CEO was part of a roundtable meeting held by Minister Kim with representatives from leading industrials players in Denmark, including Lego, Maersk, Vestas, Danfoss and Grundfos. The aim of the meeting was to exchange ideas on ways in which the companies of the two countries could work more closely together on green growth, following directly from the Green Growth Alliance signed in May 2011 .

The two countries share a similar energy profile: the RoK currently imports more than 95% of its total energy needs from abroad; in the early 1970's, Denmark faced a similar situation with more than 93% of energy consumption based on oil imports. Today, Denmark is the only country in the EU classified as a net energy exporter.

The potential gains from cooperation between the two countries may prove to be exponential, given the long history of cleantech advances in Denmark and the industrial strengths of the Republic of Korea. Combining the two could result in a global leadership in the development and application of renewable energy technologies.
